Construction Update 2017-05-05

05 May 2017

The bridge demolition on April 1st was a great success! Dufferin Construction would like to thank the public for cooperating and being patient through the sometimes very long lineups along the detour route.

In the centre median, the pier cap on top of the columns was poured on May 2nd. The barrier wall that was removed during the demolition is scheduled to be replaced next week.

North of Highway 401, the concrete pour for the abutment wall is scheduled for May 9th.

South of the highway, the Veterans Memorial Parkway extension and Hwy 401 eastbound off and on ramps at VMP are currently being graded, and new pipe culverts have been placed under the ramps. Piling is well underway as well and should wrap up by early next week.

Coming up this month, the left lanes in both directions of Highway 401 will remain closed until mid to late May when the barrier wall, sewer, and pavement works in the median are complete. Piling for the south abutment will be completed and the wall will be poured, and the reconstruction of Wilton Grove Road at the VMP south extension will continue for 2-3 weeks.
