On Monday March 27, 2017 the eastbound on- and off-ramps of Veterans Memorial Parkway will be closed to prepare the bridge for removal (scheduled on Saturday April 1). The eastbound on- and off-ramps of Veterans Memorial Parkway will remain closed for a period of 6 months while the bridge is reconstructed.
At 6:00 pm on April 1st, both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Hwy 401 will be closed until 10:00 am the following morning.
Following the bridge demolition on April 1st the left lane in both the eastbound and westbound directions will be closed for approximately 45 days to allow construction of the pier for the new bridge. The left lane in both the eastbound and westbound lanes will be opened once the pier construction is complete.
Following the pier construction, efforts will shift to the north side of Highway 401 to construct the new on- and off-ramps. Mid-May the westbound on- and off-ramps to Veterans Memorial Parkway will be closed for a period of approximately 90 days to allow for the new ramp construction.
